100% Beautiful

**This is quite a long post so if you're not into emotional, controversial topics, I suggest you stop reading now and come back tomorrow*

'Eww, shes so fat!'
'Does he ever stop reading? Such a nerd!'
'You can see her bones... Not attractive!'
'She's so loud, way too over-confident!'
'He's wearing a pink shirt, he must be gay!'

Listed above are a small fraction of modern day insults that get thrown around like they can't seriously damage someones self esteem. Well, reality check- they can. And I know how much they can hurt, so I'm hear to tell you that if you ever hear one of those insults, you should simply walk away, because you do not deserve that kind of negativity in your beautiful life. You're worth something. You were brought into this world for a reason, and that reason was not to put up with ignorant people who think they rule the world. Here are a few points that people sometimes get judged for...

First, lets start off at the point many people, girls and boys alike, sometimes forget; and that's being yourself. You were made to be different, why do people want to blend in with the crowd? If you're told that you're too weird, or too loud, or eat too much, or wear too much makeup, or anything like that, then do you know what you should do? YOU SHOULD DUMP THEIR ASS. You don't deserve to be around people who don't have the back bone to accept you for who you are, and you shouldn't stand for it. If you want to be weird, then go ahead. If you want to be loud, who's stopping you? You eat too much? Haha, not possible, you eat that cake girl! Sometimes, you've got to get the courage, as hard as it may be, to tell them how you feel. If they're your friend, they'll listen. If not, you never needed them anyway. Be yourself. Everybody else is already taken.

Now the bit that quite a lot of us have been the target of, and that's judgment. We have probably all been judged in our lifetime, whether its about our hair, the way were walking, or the way that we dress. And sometimes, its not nice, and even if you know this person quite well, they might think that something that you're doing is... weird. I like it when people describes them self as weird, because this means that you're fully aware how you act is weird, and you're proud of it. If you can say to someone 'Yes, sometimes i can be quite weird', then you're showing them and yourself that you know that you can act strange, but you're not going to change that, because thats who you are! So the next time you walk past someone and they look at you funny, or have a giggle to their friend, smile to yourself and think 'I've done my job',

And last but not least is changing yourself to look like someone else. Whether this is a celebrity or a person that goes to your school, we've all had a phase where we want to copy their exact move and style. But we just have to remember that everyone is perfect in their own way. You're probably sat sighing at your computer as soon as you read those words, because they're used so often and sometimes not in the right way. Yes, that girl might have blonde hair and blue eyes, but whats wrong with your brown hair and green eyes? That girl may be a size 8, but whats wrong with a size 14? That boy might have an 8 pack, but whats wrong with your toned stomach? Sometimes, we worry about the things on the outside more than we do on our insides, which isn't good. Of course, everyone would like to look like a model, or a pop star, or a football player, but unless you know them personally, i guarantee that by the time they start talking, it will seem like you've lived your entire life loving them for their looks instead of what really counts; their personality. Then again, they might be really nice people, but you don't know that. But you DO know what you are, and how you look without all the editing, and how you act and how you feel. So all you need to worry about is yourself, and not trying to look like anyone else, because even though you might not believe it, you are:

100% BEAUTIFUL!

What's In My School Bag?

Now that the Easter break is over, I thought I'd do a few school-related posts for the people either starting or returning to school. As a student, of course, I own a school bag. So I thought I'd start off  with a 'Whats in my School Bag' post, because if you're nosy like me, you'll know that looking into someone else's bag brings a certain pleasure to your life (...or is that just me?). So lets begin! :)

I'm sure theres going to be some people that notice that my 'MI PAC' isn't real. Truth is, I got it from a market stall for £5, and I wasn't going to NOT buy it because it came without a logo, especially since it was only a fiver. Anyway, the bag is actually a teal colour but because of awful camera quality, it turned it blue. Its a spacious bag that can fit a lot inside it, and has a main part and a front pocket.

Sooo, in the front pocket, I put my main school essentials (school books aside). I carry-

  • A Notebook (always carry a notebook around, you never know when you'll need one!)
  • Dry Shampoo (because P.E can make your hair sweat too!)
  • A Body Spray ( for a little burst of scent throughout the day, I highly recommend the Hollisters!)
  • A Nail File & a Manicure Set (I find these extremely useful for when the worst happens- a broken nail!!)
  • Vaseline (For a bit of lip TLC)
  • My Favourite Book (Looking for Alaska, I could read that book all day! I bring this around just in case you ever find your self in a boring situation- of course you could just get your phone out, but I prefer books!)
I also carry around with me a little white makeup bag for some of the more personal things and some little bits that might get lost at the bottom of my bag, such as more lip balm, a compact mirror, hand cream and chewing gum.

I tend to carry food in my front pocket, little snacks to eat through out the day, it drives me insane if I have no food! Just remember to take out the wrappers! :)

Hope you enjoyed this little tour around my school bag! I'll be doing more school related posts as the week goes on, along with a few more beauty-related posts as well:)

BOURJOIS CHOCOLATE BRONZING POWDER: Review

When it comes to bronzer, I used to just go straight to Collection bronzer, because its the one I've always used and never saw myself flitting or looking for other options, but the time has come where I think I need to expand my bronzer outlook, so I decided to try a product thats been raved about by quite a lot of beauty bloggers; the Bourjois Chocolate Bronzer.

In these reviews, I am going to be 100% honest, so I'm not going to avoid the fact that I don't think this bronzer is all that good. I got it in the shade 51, and I'm still not sure if this is the right colour for my skin tone (or for any) but for some reason, it turns my face orange, to the point I look like a tangerine. In the future, I do intend to invest in a more variety of shades, but so far, I'm not that impressed... back to Collection!

But apart from that minor/major downside, the texture is super soft, and even though it claims to smell like chocolate but doesn't, it still smells quite nice.

Packaging-wise, it's a really cute and original way to present a bronzer, and if I'm honest, the packaging is probably the best thing about it... unless I find a shade to suit my skin. But until then, not a fan!

20 Useful Beauty Tips: Pt 1

I thought I would put together a few tips I find useful when I'm going about my everyday beauty-related life that you might find useful/beneficial. I'm aware these tips might be everyday knowledge to some people, but to others, these might help, so if you already know all of these tips and you've wasted your time reading this post: sorry.

Tip #1). Using a highlighter around your lips can make them appear more plump.
Take your highlighter and line the edge of your lips. Then blend, and it should make your lips become more accentuated.

Tip #2). To make your lipstick last longer, put a tissue on your lips, and rub over a translucent powder.
This can also be used to mattify a lipstick too :)

Tip #3). Warm up your eyelash curler.
This could be with a hair dryer or by letting it sit on a radiator or hot surface, a heated lash curler will make your lashes stay curled for longer.

Tip #4). Apply dry shampoo in the evening.
Applying dry shampoo before you go to bed allows it to soak into your scalp overnight, where as if you were applying it the following morning and you were in a rush, the shampoo would just simply sit on your hair instead of actually working.

Tip #5). Cold rinse.
Always rinse your hair with cold water instead of warm. Cold water closes up hair cuticles (works a bit like skin) and locks in extra moisture, allowing it to look shiner.

Tip #6). Hair conditioner for shaving.
Put hair conditioner all over the surface your shaving (usually works best for legs/arms) and it will leave it feeling silky smooth that will last longer than your average soap or shaving cream.

Tip #7). Use shimmer eye shadow in the middle of your lips.
This will give it a pretty sheen, and make your lips look a lot bigger and plumper than they actually are.

Tip #8). Revive dried-out mascaras!
If your mascara has dried out before it should have, boil a mug of water and place the mascara tube in. Leave for 5 minutes, take it out and let it cool, and your mascara will be good as new!

Tip #9). Don't overuse perfume.
The best places to put perfume would be-
*Behind your ears
*At the base of your throat
*Inside your wrist
*Inside the elbow
*Behind the knee.

Tip #10). Match your makeup to look natural.
If you're going for a more natural look, try to match your blush and lipstick/lip gloss together, as this will create a more 'put together' look.

Part 2 will be coming soon, where i'll be giving you the other 10 tips, so keep a watch out!

Mini Soap & Glory Haul

First of all, apologies for the awful camera quality, I wrote this post then realized I hadn't taken any pictures for it, and because it was dark, the flash was brought out.

Soap & Glory is one of my favourite brands / smells in the world! It's a known fact that I can't leave the house without smelling like its fresh, sweet smell, so it's vital I have ''extra resources'' in case I run out accidentally! (That's the lie I always tell myself- with my stash, I don't think i'd need to buy anymore for at least a year!) So I decided to downsize to the mini versions when I went shopping the other day, and thought you would appreciate me sharing it with you, as this IS a beauty blog and I would have thought that hauls come under some sort of beauty-typed thing.

First of all, the 'Mist You Madly' spray. This spray lasts me on average, about a month, so I always need to be prepared if the worst should happen (DA DA DAAAHHH). This smells like a mix between flowers and sweetness, HOWEVER, I also feel like its one of those smells where you either love it or hate it... I know a few people have said the scent gives them a headache because its quite strong and sweet, but for those that DO love it, you can't beat it.

I got the mini-sized 'Clean on Me' shower gel (I love how they come up with clever titles for their products which are either song lyrics or puns), and this smells just as good as the spray but with a bit less floral-in-your-face typed smell. Its a really soft mixture (if that makes ANY sense), and leaves your skin lovely and smooth. I'm a shower kind of girl, so usually, I don't make a big deal about soaps and shampoos because I always think the process is much quicker than if I had a bath, but because its S&G, I had a cheeky smell and fell in love, so maybe I might start having a longer look around the soap isle!

I then brought 'Hand Food'. Right, I'm not going to lie, this is the first time I've brought this, and I don't know if its because I picked up a dodgy tube, but the smell is VILE. It doesn't smell like any of the products at all, and I'm not that impressed...

But I've saved my favourite (apart from the spray of course) until last, because I am utterly in love with the scrubs. I have the 'Flake Away', which is an amazing exfoliater for places that might get rough surfaces sometimes like your feet or knees or elbows maybe. This smells a bit like the soap, but with a bit more of a citrusy zing to it. The only downside is it's sooo greasy, and you often have to wash your hands after using it, but apart from that, its all good :D.

So for now, that is the end of my ever-expanding Soap & Glory collection. One day i'll do a full collection-talk-through-thing, but until then, I hope you enjoyed this:).

Introduction: 'Get to Know Me' Tag.

Holaaaaaa! (going to have to think of a better opening use for my posts :s)

If you've seen my Abouts page (which can be found here), you will know I gave you a brief peak through the keyhole of certain aspects of my life, which, considering the circumstances of no one knowing anything about me, wasn't that detailed. At all. So I decided to take the plunge and give you a bit more info into Lydia's life, and found 21 questions (which i got from here) that I am now going to share with you, so I hope you enjoy! :)

1). 'Are you named after anyone?' From what I've heard, I had a variety of names before my parents decided on Lydia, I think I was very nearly call Robyn, but I'm not quite sure what made them change their mind, I'm not familiar with anymore Lydias apart from myself, so maybe not, they just liked the name.

2). 'When was the last time you cried?' I HATE crying in front of people, so I could make up a bunch of lies here and say that I last cried when I was 2, but no. The last time was a couple of months back when i was watching 'The Last Song', and nothing in this world can ever stop me from crying at that film, guaranteed every time.

3). 'Do I have kids?' As far as I'm aware, no.

4). 'If you were a different person, would you be a friend of yourself?' HAHAHA, i had to read that question about 4 times before it finally made sense in my head. Of course I would, I'm fabulous.

5). 'Do you use sarcasm alot?' Sarcasm is more like a second language to me really, and I'm sure that a fair bit of sarcasm will be spread around this blog, you'll all learn eventually! Haha.

6). 'Will you ever bungee-jump?' I could just leave the answer with 2 words; 'HELL YES', but lets expand. Bungee jumping has been one of my life goals since I was in the womb, and I wouldn't think twice about it if someone asked me this very minute. I absolutely LOVE anything and everything dangerous and/or fun.

7).'Whats my favourite cereal?' It would have to be Sugar Puffs. Can't beat them!

8). 'Whats the first thing you notice about people?' I'm not sure if this question has the potential to carry a shallow answer, but if we were talking about appearances, I would say eyes. Even though I find it extremely hard to keep eye contact with someone whilst having a conversation (I know thats often seen as extremely rude but sometimes I just can't do it), eyes are the first thing I would notice if I was talking to a person, and where their eyes were looking when they were talking to me.

9). ' What is your eye colour?' Blue with a few brown specks.

10). 'Scary movies or happy endings?' WHAAATTT you can't make me choose between those!! Its hard enough being a hopeless romantic AND a horror girl at the same time! Nope, i refuse to choose.

11). 'Favorite smells?' Damn this is getting border-line weird... Erm, I love the smell of fresh linen.

12). 'Summer or Winter?' Definitely summer! I love the sun and getting a tan and how the nights seem longer and everyone's happy!

13). 'Computer or TV?' Computer, without a doubt.

14). 'Whats the furthest you've been from home?' A couple of years back I went to Germany on a school trip. Best time of my life, even if I was ages away from home.

15). 'Do you have any special talents?' Would you class playing piano as a talent? Or just an interest? I have a talent for reading for 16 hours straight as well, but maybe thats just because John Green kidnaps me every time I open one of his books.

16). 'Where were you born?' England.

17). 'What are your hobbies?' I always freeze when I get asked this question because it's then that I realize how boring my life is... like I said on No. 15, piano, reading, the occasional star gaze, and now, blogging:).

18). 'Do you have any pets?' I've never had a pet in my entire life, but my ferret obsession is getting out of hand... its going to happen one day. I WILL own 65 ferrets.

19) 'Favourite movie?' Well of course we have some classic musicals, Dirty Dancing and Grease, then we have a few romance films, The First Time and Beastly, and then the Horrors, Quarantine 1+2, Scary Movie (not really a horror but it's based on one) and Annabelle.

20). 'Do I have any siblings?' I have a biological younger sister, but Mia is like a sister to me anyway, so I have 2 siblings :)

21). 'What do you want to be when you grow older?' Rich. Hahahaha. No, even though i WOULD like to be rich, I wouldn't mind going into the forces (you can take the girl out of the military, but you'll NEVER take the military out of the girl) or maybe if this blog plans out right, something in the beauty industry! Wouldn't mind setting up my own bakery either :)

So I feel like I rambled on more than what was necessary there, but it's a first post so theres my excuse, haha! Hope you enjoyed it, I feel rather exposed now! Keep an eye out for my next posts going up tomorrow:)

Mia also did the exact same tag, so >heres< a link to her blog. You should check it out 100%, she’s amazing.
